that explains a lot

Here, I explain set II: what's going on in research now: HCI, open-source, the technology-work relationship (cite Spinnuzzi). These projects are a reaction both to the thoretical underpinnings in technology studies and an increasingly technology-saturated workplace. However:

I was intending to put a note in my paper about he fact that a great portion of the software and information used to assemble the data that I discuss is freely available to absoluttely anyone and also of reasonable enough technological requirement that really ANY computer could allow access to the necessary technology... given that there is enough to time sit around reading while the computer cruches numbers.

Maybe I will add that note. I haven't exactly put that portion into print just yet.

Sigh. Ok. I'll just leave that paper in the past and move on to the next problem at hand. Grading. The curse that forced other writing to be done under such mind numbing time pressure to begin with.

"You killed a lot of trees." almost sounds like a presumptively positive appraisal though. Since I do not study plants, tree killing does not really strike me as emotionally affecting.
